Tropical Storm Fay passed west of us, through Melbourne, at about 2 a.m. Wednesday morning. All day Tuesday as the storm moved up from Lake Okeechobee we had strong winds (gusting to 55 mph) and heavy rain. At about 4 p.m. Tuesday our power went out. It came back on about 9 a.m. Wednesday. Electricity is good! Throughout Wednesday, as the storm moved very slowly from Cape Canaveral to Titusville, we had continuous rain, resulting in the worst street flooding we've ever seen. A warning went out that the sewer system was overloaded and sewage was backing up into some homes--don't use dishwashers or washing machines. By Thursday morning a total of 20 inches of rain had fallen in Satellite Beach.
